The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be required to perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Essential Functions

• Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
• Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; adheres to clear egress and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
• Assists Customers as needed; is register-trained, assists with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly greeting; thanks Customers at checkout.
• Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; handles issues in a courteous and helpful way, consulting Store Leadership when needed.
• Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks and maintains cleanliness in work areas and restrooms; replenishes supplies as needed.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
• Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines.
• Understands the Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguards confidential information and merchandise; follows all cash handling procedures.
• Follows MOS (Mark-Out-of-Stock) policies and notifies Store Leadership for disposition approvals.
• Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

Ability to use all Store equipment, stand and move for up to 100% of working time, and regularly bend, squat, climb, reach, and stoop. Ability to lift more than 25 pounds occasionally. May require use of janitorial equipment and ladders.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $14.81 - $15.31. This range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Benefits offered to all Associates include Insurance programs, Associate Discount, 401K, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and other benefits as described by the company. Some benefits apply to full-time positions and location. This description does not guarantee eligibility for all benefits.
