Retail Associate

Position Title: Retail Associate

Reports to: Retail Supervisor(s), Assistant Retail Operations Manager, and Retail Operations Manager

Responsibilities

  1. Fulfill guest’s needs quickly and efficiently.
  2. Inform retail leadership in a timely manner when item quantities are low or special requests, working with warehouse team to pull & fill items as necessary.
  3. Relay relevant comments received from customers directly to supervisor.
  4. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  5. Uphold company policies and procedures.
  6. Perform the steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.
  7. Check and stock supplies in counter area, floor display, floor stands and cabinets neatly, accurately, and in a timely fashion.
  8. Clean tables, chairs, equipment as needed.
  9. Keep counter and floor in work or service area clean and free of debris.
  10. Maintain balanced cash drawer as assigned.
  11. Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
  12. Merchandise product to maximize sales.
  13. Increase sales by promotional items or suggestive selling.
  14. Support unit in being an example for Company & Client guidelines with regard to Sustainability/Conservation efforts. Display knowledge of efforts in business application as well as giving adequate opportunity for teaching to unit staff as necessary.
  15. Support SSA / Unit in driving community effort through hiring efforts, engagement activities, and focus on opportunities of giving back.

Job Requirements

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  2. Thrive in a team environment while having the ability to work independently and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
  4. Computer knowledge and skill level in basic POS systems and Excel.
  5. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes (10-35lbs) as necessary to operation, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.
  6. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Previous Experience

None required. All education backgrounds eligible.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly, Non-Exempt. Pay is based on range in consideration of relevant job experience and certification/education.
