Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst to collaborate with our team and clients in architecting and developing data models, data warehouses, lakes, lakehouses, data governance, services, and pipelines. We value a candidate who is not just a "Data Analyst" but a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills, coupled with a passion for data and problem solving.

Contributions

  1. Assist in migrating data environments with a focus on performance and reliability.
  2. Assess, understand, and document data sources.
  3. Handle technical inquiries related to customization, integration, enterprise architecture, and features of data products.
  4. Experience with cloud-based database/data warehouse solutions (preferably AWS; Azure or GCP as alternatives).
  5. Core skills include data modeling and data understanding.
  6. Be part of our Data Exploitation Practice!

Qualifications

  1. Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
  2. 0-2 years of experience in data model and data warehouse design, including schema design and ER diagrams.
  3. 0-2 years of experience collaborating with management, personas, and engineers to support data quality efforts.
  4. Experience with large-scale data migration.
  5. Experience designing storage and retrieval solutions for structured and unstructured data, supporting data science pipelines.
  6. Experience designing data platforms for user consumption.
  7. Experience supporting the development of data artifacts such as Data Dictionary, ER Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, Data Quality Plans, Data Management Plans, and Data Asset Catalogs.
  8. Proficiency with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
  9. Familiarity with cloud technology (AWS or Azure) and managed services like EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift.
  10. Experience developing specifications for large-scale cloud-based data repositories.
  11. Knowledge of FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption for data at rest and in motion.
  12. Ability to understand customer requirements and prioritize for optimal user experience.
  13. Experience working with software and data science teams to operationalize data.
  14. Proven ability to collaborate with diverse staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  15. Experience working in an agile environment.
  16. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or related technical field.

About Steampunk

Salary for this position varies based on factors such as location, education, skills, and experience. The typical annual salary range is $50,000 to $115,000. Salary is one component of Steampunk’s total compensation package. Learn more about our benefits here.
