  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region’s Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

  • The Trauma Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting a high-performing trauma program by ensuring the accurate, timely, and comprehensive collection, analysis, and reporting of trauma data.
  • Under the direction of the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Medical Director, this role is integral to trauma program verification, quality improvement, research, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • This individual serves as a subject matter expert in trauma data integrity, coding, and performance metrics, contributing directly to clinical excellence and strategic decision-making

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or documented equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in trauma registry or clinical data abstraction in a hospital or trauma center setting.
  • Completion of a recognized Trauma Registrar course, such as those endorsed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) or the American Trauma Society (ATS).
  • Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS 2015) Certification.
  • ICD-10-CM/PCS coding proficiency, with refresher training completed within the past 5 years.
  • Must obtain CAISS and CSTR certifications within 12 months of hire.
  • Familiarity with trauma data submission to NTDB, TQIP, and state trauma systems.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • CAISS (Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist).
  • Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) and TQIP (Trauma Quality Improvement Program) experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
