Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled data warehouse engineer to join our IT team. This role involves close collaboration with business analysts, stakeholders, and executives to gather, define, and translate business requirements into robust, actionable BI and data solutions. The position requires a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL development, and interactive reporting.

You’ll play a vital technical role in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level business intelligence and analytics platforms that power decision-making across the organization.

Location: Warren, MI- Fully onsite

Schedule: Standard Office Hours, Monday – Friday (average 45 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and comprehensive BI solutions.
  • Design, build, and deploy scalable BI tools and dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot and enhance existing reports to improve accuracy and usability.
  • Implement technical and strategic improvements in existing BI systems.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to support data analysis and reporting needs.
  • Build interactive, visually compelling reports and dashboards using Qlik Sense and SSRS.
  • Maintain and produce up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines using SSIS and Visual Studio, including stored procedures, control/data flows, and parameter management.
  • Extract, transform, and load data into SQL Data Stores and Data Warehouses.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to gather and document solution requirements and test scenarios.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SSIS and SSRS development.
  • Scripting knowledge in PowerShell and Python for data processing and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and data mining techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of ETL processes and relational database systems.
  • 4–8 years of professional experience using Qlik, Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Redshift or Databricks.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouse architecture, including Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for data and BI services.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for BI deployment.
  • Experience in machine learning and predictive modeling techniques.
