BI Data Analyst role at Apex Systems

Responsibilities

• Developing, debugging, assessing and monitoring quality of reporting
• Investigating data anomalies, reporting upstream issues, and uncovering areas for improvement
• Leading ongoing reviews of requirements, roadmaps, and developing optimization strategies
• Creating and maintaining documentation on reporting requirements, metric definitions, etc.
• Effectively communicate findings to teammates and stakeholders
• Gathering feedback and action items from meetings and translate into tickets / team notes
• Ensuring data integrity is maintained throughout the release of new product features by testing and monitoring data alongside test groups both pre and post launch
• Managing multiple projects, developing plans, and monitoring performance
• Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
• Querying / combining / analyzing data to answer business questions

Top Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience
• Strong SQL and database query skills; experience with HQL ideally
• Be able to write complex queries from scratch to aggregate data
• Tableau experience preferred, some visualization required (Power BI, SSRS, etc.)
• Strong analysis skills: basic statistics and critical thinking/problem solving
• Experience working with stakeholders to understand data needs for business decisions
• Strong communication and collaboration
• Ability to help others when needed rather than only delegating

• Shell, Bash, or Python scripting
• AWS: S3, Lambda, EMR
• Git or Gitlab
