Department Overview

The Office of the CIO (OCIO) exists to ensure that IT effectively manages costs, invests strategically, and operates efficiently. It comprises four teams: IT Supplier Office, People Strategy and Metrics & Reporting, Strategic Portfolio Operational Excellence, and Investment & Regulatory Management.

Position Summary

The Operations Data Analyst will work on the Metrics & Reporting team, responsible for developing and maintaining dashboards used by senior IT leadership. The role includes supporting benchmarking activities, troubleshooting reports, and collaborating with IT leaders to improve operational efficiency through KPIs and data visualization.

PG&E provides the following salary range in good faith, based on current market conditions:

Bay Area Minimum: $87,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $131,000.00

This position is hybrid, with work from your remote office and our Cupertino location, based on business needs within the PG&E Service Territory.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with senior IT leadership to develop visual management boards for operational reviews.
  2. Create actionable reports and present findings clearly to leadership.
  3. Manage complex data analysis projects end-to-end, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  4. Extract, model, and transform complex datasets for visualization purposes.
  5. Assist leadership in defining new KPIs and benchmarking against other utilities.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant job experience.

Desired:

  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize user requirements and provide meaningful analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Power BI.
  • Experience ingesting API data into Power BI.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to data refresh and development.
  • Understanding of Lean visual management principles.
  • Experience using Business Objects for report generation.
