Overview
Assurance Data Analyst role at Plante Moran. This position supports assurance services for clients through data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Work with data extraction tools to process client audit and tax data more efficiently
- Manipulate and report tabular data, build reports and views
- Acquire a sound understanding of the business areas, their data systems, their interdependencies and collective role for the firm
- Manage the request process and align resources to support timelines
- Define and estimate tasks necessary to accomplish assigned goals
- Design and document process and data flows
- Respond to issues, questions, and make recommendations to team members and management
- Provide training to end users on the use of internally developed or off the shelf tools
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in IT, Data Science, Accounting, or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience with data extraction and processing with applications including Alteryx and advanced Excel is required
- 1-2 years of experience with MindBridge or IDEA preferred
- 1-2 years of Assurance or Audit related experience in a professional services environment with a strong technology savvy or data analytics background preferred
- Experience writing professional quality business and technical documentation
- Ability to read, understand, and verify data models
- Demonstrated knowledge of database tools such as SQL
- Demonstrated knowledge of PowerBI or PowerApps
- Demonstrated functional knowledge of the unique database structures used in accounting and financial systems and techniques used for linking systems
- Demonstrated understanding of analytics tools and concepts
- Ability to work independently and show initiative with minimum supervision
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply appropriately to business situations
- Strong team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced team atmosphere
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to listen effectively and seek clarification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to acquire, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working with remote teams
- This position may require some local, national, and occasional international travel
