Job Summary

An AFL Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in advancing data excellence within a defined business domain by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise master data. This role acts as a subject matter expert and facilitator, collaborating with data owners, SMEs, and governance councils to drive data quality, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Data Analyst is both a strategic and hands-on role responsible for enabling better business decisions through trusted data.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and validate product and manufacturing data domains, including product attributes & hierarchies, bills of material (BOM), planning parameters, and key transaction dates/status.
  • Perform regular data quality checks, identify errors, and execute corrections according to established governance processes.
  • Monitor KPIs and metrics related to data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness; escalate systemic issues to the Data Governance Lead.
  • Support root-cause analysis for recurring data issues and recommend process or system improvements.
  • Collaborate with Data Stewards to align data maintenance activities with business rules and governance standards.
  • Document and maintain procedures for data entry, cleansing, and validation.
  • Provide ad-hoc data extracts, reports, and analyses to support planning, supply chain, and operations teams.
  • Support master data migration or transformation activities during system upgrades or new implementations.

Key Competencies (Technical)
  • Experience with SQL or reporting tools (PowerBI)
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks (g.DAMA-DMBOK)
  • Strong understanding of S&OP/IBP, ERP, and MDM systems.
  • Experience transforming data analysis into actionable plans and developing presentations to communicate findings and results.
  • Strong acumen with data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, data management, supply chain, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis and master data management, preferably in a supply chain or manufacturing environment preferred or strong Internship or Co-op experience required.
