Job Description:

The Data Management Analyst II for the Congenital Heart Team is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex research and clinical data to support program performance, quality improvement, and research initiatives. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high-quality data systems, developing robust measurement tools, and generating actionable insights to inform institutional decision-making.

About This Role:

  • Develops data collection instruments for congenital heart research; develops and utilizes instruments and methods for the evaluation and quality control of research or operational data.
  • Collects, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes congenital heart research data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
  • Maintains computerized collection and tracking of relevant congenital heart research data.
  • Utilizes specified statistical software to analyze and interpret congenital heart disease research data, as appropriate to the position.
  • Maintains appropriate records of congenital heart research methods and results.
  • Designs and/or develops specific databases for collection, tracking, and reporting of congenital heart research data, as appropriate to the position.
  • May participate in or initiate proposal writing and funding searches for congenital heart research; may develop and/or present training programs in field of expertise.
  • May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work on congenital heart research projects.
  • Applies principles and theories of inferential statistics to congenital heart research data.
  • Independently develops and completes a range of analyses and reports using inferential statistical measures commonly used in congenital heart disease research; may require modifications of those measures.
  • Interprets results of these analyses and provides explanation for variances in measures used for congenital heart program or research recommendations.
  • Consults on statistical sampling techniques, database alternatives, and on organizing and conducting analyses of congenital heart research activities.
  • Decides on the modification of computerized statistical packages that compile or manipulate congenital heart research data, and the application of the packages to such data.
  • Collaborates with IT staff on improvements to or development of congenital heart research data infrastructure.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a surgical tech/RN/RRT or other comparable clinical role.
