The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is comprised of 2,000 employees with an annual operating budget of over $1 billion. DHS works to prevent homelessness, reduce street homelessness, and assist New Yorkers in transitioning from shelter to permanent housing.

The DHS seeks an Associate Staff Analyst in the Housing Emergency Referral Operations (HERO) Unit. HERO identifies and secures shelter for families and single adults applying for emergency housing, and consists of seven sections including Data & Systems.

The Placement Division is recruiting one (1) Associate Staff Analyst to:

  1. Analyze data and systems, ensuring effective data management and security.
  2. Analyze large project and financial data, producing reports and presentations.
  3. Maintain and update CARES, BCS, Cap Dash, and other systems to ensure accurate reporting.
  4. Draft/edit reports, spreadsheets, and perform analysis as required.
  5. Support department projects and initiatives, including analyses and reports.
  6. Coordinate with internal and external partners to meet deadlines and project goals.

Work Location: 33 Beaver Street

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in relevant fields with one year of professional experience, or
  • Baccalaureate degree with three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills include strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $77,158.00 – $95,000.00
