Overview

Residential Construction Worker role at Samaritan's Purse in San Angelo, Texas. As a Construction Worker you will work on constructing and repairing homes in affected areas, lead volunteers, and ensure high-quality work while supporting the organization's mission on-site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Work with the Project Superintendent, Construction Foremen, and Logistics Coordinators to construct and/or repair homes in the affected area
• Work with and lead volunteers
• Collaborate with other construction workers and hired subcontractors when needed
• Ensure the quality of each project is maintained to the highest possible standard
• Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site and ensure all work is done according to safety standards
• Maintain security of all materials and equipment at job sites
• Ensure quality and adherence to Samaritan's Purse policies from hired subcontractors
• Inspect all jobs to ensure work is performed per federal, state, and local laws and codes
• Communicate and minister to homeowners and partners, keeping them informed of the team\'s work and projected needs
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to obtain a driver's medical card (required)
• Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, and finish carpentry) (preferred)
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection
