About the Opportunity
A well-established General Contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead its grading division. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage multiple projects, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and build a strong team environment. Projects range across site development, utilities, roadwork, and heavy civil construction throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all field activities on assigned projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations.
- Lead and mentor foremen, operators, and crews to achieve production, safety, and quality goals.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in different locations across the Southeast.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, and project teams on scheduling, materials, and inspections.
- Ensure erosion control, MSHA compliance, and site safety standards are maintained.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety checks, and project documentation.
- Support recruiting, training, and development of field personnel.
- Oversee project billing, timesheets, expense reports, and accurate project records.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment when needed, ensuring safe storage and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Civil Superintendent , preferably with a focus on grading, site work, utilities, and heavy civil projects.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations.
- Ability to read drawings, manage schedules, and oversee multiple crews and projects.
- Proficiency in team building, leadership, and decision-making in high-pressure environments.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel within SC, NC, and GA.
