Overview


This position is responsible for selling fuel, lubricants, diesel exhaust fluids (DEF), cardlock fuels, and petroleum equipment to a diverse range of customers.


What You Will Do


Sales and Business Development



  • Identify and target profitable new business opportunities to expand the customer base for fuel, lubricants, DEF, cardlock fuels, and petroleum equipment.

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve profitable sales targets and grow market share.

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.


Customer Relationship Management



  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product recommendations.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups with customers to assess their needs and introduce new products and promotions.


Product Expertise



  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s product offerings, including fuel, lubricants, DEF, and petroleum equipment.

  • Educate customers on product features, benefits, and applications to assist them in making informed purchasing decisions.

  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and new products.


Sales Reporting and Administration



  • Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and territory plans to management.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions using CRM software.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and customer service, to support sales efforts.


Additional



  • Complete operational tasks as needed to meet customer demands including inventory checks, pull orders, repair or replace equipment, etc.

  • Deliver products to customers as needed.

  • Install lubrication and fuel equipment as needed at customer locations.

  • Assist in inventory management to ensure customer orders can be met.


Supervision Of Others



  • None


Work Environment



  • Occasional work is performed in an office setting.

  • Frequently outside sales environments.

  • Frequent travel in a vehicle and to customer sites of various work environments.

  • Frequent work around equipment, machinery, and vehicles.

  • Occasional exposure to dusty, wet, dirty environments and to fuel and fuel fumes.

  • Occasional extreme temperatures.


Physical Demands



  • Able to sit and stand for extended periods.

  • Able to move freely around work and customer sites.

  • Able to climb stairs and ladders, kneel, bend, and stoop.

  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Able to walk/climb various terrains.

  • Able to move about office setting to complete responsibilities.

  • Frequent use of phone, computer, and office equipment.


Travel



  • Local area frequently.

  • Occasional travel outside local area up to 25% of the time.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Three or more years of outside sales experience in a business-to-business environment or a related field in the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Able to develop and close sales processes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn company systems and processes.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Adheres to the company’s values and ethical expectations.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.


Preferred



  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.

  • Sales or operations experience in the lubricant and fuel industry.

  • Experience using CRM solutions.

  • Knowledge of businesses in the work area.
