Description: Candidates must be located near Chicago, IL. This will involve up to 50% travel throughout the United States.
Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to generate sales by establishing and maintaining relationships with assigned territories. Candidate must maintain an understanding of distribution channels and key industry leaders. Incentive program and goals established by the company will be based on developing and sustaining profitable sales growth at assigned accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities: This list is not comprehensive but represents the most common duties. Other duties are required and/or assigned.
- Develop/maintain profitable and sustainable sales growth at assigned territories of all AMT products
- Manage large complex accounts, internally and externally
- Develop key account plans for assigned accounts; implement account strategy
- Maintain thorough understanding of the customers’ distribution channels
- Implement and manage the effective delivery of key customer programs including communication strategies, customer training, issue resolution and utilization reporting
- Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders and your team members to ensure the successful delivery of services to your customers
- Investigate, track, and resolve customer and client concerns; identify trends and implement solutions
- Keep strong communication lines open with Regional Sales Manager
- Determine customers’ unmet needs and translate internally for adequate follow up
- Manage the overall customer satisfaction and profitability of key accounts
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending engineering meetings and discussions
- Prior sales experience preferred, must be willing to travel extensively, teamwork, multi-tasking, listening, verbal communication, high impact/presentation skills
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- 2-3 years of outside sales experience or equivalent experience
- Product knowledge of enteral feeding products - preferred
- Surgical procedure knowledge, adequate to illustrate our product benefits
- Basic anatomy
- Demonstrated human relation and communication skills
- Medical and surgical terminology
- Thorough understanding of needs/analysis selling
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- An understanding of contract administration
- Business acumen with demonstrated leadership abilities
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Maintains a valid Driver’s License.
Essential Job Functions: Mental: Must be able to effectively communicate with others; complete and understand complex analysis of numbers; read, analyze and interpret written materials; develop team to meet and exceed company standards; ensure compliance with company policies; respond appropriately to feedback to make improvements; maintain positive working relationships; troubleshoot and solve problems. Physical: Must be able to hear and verbally communicate for hours at a time, use computer equipment. Moderate noise level and limited exposure to physical risk.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Knowledge of modern business communication, office procedures and methods. Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork.
Equipment Used: telephones, computer, other office equipment as needed.
