Role OverviewKey Responsibilities
- Prospect: Cold‑call, email, network, attend local events/manufacturing/business meetups to generate new SMB leads (typically 20-700 employees)
- Qualify & Discover: Conduct discovery sessions to pinpoint pain points—security gaps, outdated infrastructure, staffing voids
- Present Solutions: Deliver technically-informed proposals prioritizing ROI, reliability, and compliance benefits
- Sales Cycle Management: Control prospects from First Time Appointment through the proposal process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales engineer and delivery teams to scope solutions and align sales promises to execution.
- Pipeline Tracking: Utilize CRM to log all activity, track pipeline stages accurately, forecast, and report on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Market Awareness: Stay ahead of industry trends—such as cybersecurity, cloud, and compliance—and tailor pitches to the local Chattanooga business climate.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+years in B2B sales, ideally in MSP, IT services, telecom, or technical services; experience with recurring‑revenue models preferred.
- Strong hunter mentality—self-motivated, resilient, handles rejection, thrives on cold outreach.
- Ability to translate complex IT services (cloud, security, backup) into business value—speak both tech and business.
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills—face-to-face, phone, webinars.
- Experience using a sales CRM, managing a pipeline, and forecasting.
- Experience and proven track record.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally across the Chattanooga area.
Nice-to-Haves
- Certifications like ITIL, CompTIA/A+, Security+, or vendor certs.
- Local Chattanooga/regional network in SMB/business community.
- Familiarity with MSP pricing models and contract structures.
You’ll hunt new business and grow existing clients—selling managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and support services. Expect around 3‑5 target meetings a week, high travel within the city and nearby suburbs, and full pipeline ownership.
