Trillium Construction is seeking a Crane Rental Project Manager for a direct-hire role with a client specializing in heavy machinery and crane services.
This position is a unique blend of project management and sales, overseeing projects from award through completion while also partnering with the sales team to drive revenue growth. The Project Manager will ensure safety, schedule adherence, profitability, and customer satisfaction while building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for future business.
Key Responsibilities
-Participate in customer site visits, proposal development, and contract reviews to ensure scope, risks, and obligations are clearly defined.
-Collaborate closely with the sales representative throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining strong communication with clients and documenting changes impacting schedule, scope, or budget.
-Serve as a key customer-facing representative, promoting services, maintaining client relationships, and helping secure repeat business.
-Develop and maintain project schedules, identify critical path activities, and anticipate potential issues before they arise.
-Coordinate work crews and schedule necessary equipment to support project execution.
-Manage financial performance, including cost controls, budget management, and contribution targets.
-Provide consistent updates to stakeholders on project status, including safety, financials, risks, and timelines.
-Travel as needed to job sites to oversee field leadership and ensure customer satisfaction.

-Base salary starting at $90,000+ (DOE)

Skills & Requirements
-Must be based in the Charlotte, NC area or willing to relocate.
-Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Experience balancing project management with client-facing responsibilities.
-Solid understanding of heavy construction, cranes, and industrial equipment.
-Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.
-Financial acumen with a proven ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
-Proficiency in Windows-based applications; CAD or alignment software experience is a plus.
-OSHA 30 and CPR certifications required (or ability to obtain).
-PMP certification preferred but not required.
-3+ years of project management experience in construction, crane, or industrial sectors.
Education & Physical Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
-Must be able to travel as needed and work in industrial/outdoor environments.
-Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
