We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, with experience in various accounting software. This role will involve managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting financial decision-making and maintaining the integrity of our financial operations.

Duties

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Perform tax-related tasks, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant laws, including securities law and governmental accounting standards.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, ATX, or similar tools for efficient financial management.
• Prepare detailed financial reports for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies.
• Support auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Experience

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits.
• Experience with financial report writing and interpretation is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of financial services including payroll management, cash flow analysis, budgeting, account analysis, and forecasting.
• Experience with non-profit accounting or private equity is advantageous.
• Ability to perform auditing tasks effectively while ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
