Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Position Description:

Support the finance team by applying strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail to manage the financial operations that support complex mass tort settlements. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial documentation, efficient accounting workflows, and clear communication with internal teams, external partners, and auditors. The Accountant contributes to Milestone’s mission of delivering principled, client-centered legal solutions with empathy and precision.

• Prepare monthly consolidated balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books
• Monitor and review bank statements and prepare bank reconciliations monthly
• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Prepare invoices and reconcile accounts receivable monthly
• Assist in necessary tax filings
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform monthly recording and annual financial statement preparation and annual financial statement preparation
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
