Accountant Overview
The Accountant is responsible for multiple balance sheet reconciliations, financial schedules and other duties as assigned to support Director of Finance in the day to day operations of the department.

Accountant Overview
The Accountant is responsible for multiple balance sheet reconciliations, financial schedules and other duties as assigned to support Director of Finance in the day to day operations of the department.
Schedule and Salary Information
- Schedule: Monday- Friday day shift
- Starting Salary: $75,000 (+) based on years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Proficient in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are an asset.
- Prepares journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Records cash transactions and prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintains operating/capital lease, mortgage and bond schedules. Verifies and records periodic lease, mortgage, interest rate swap, letter of credit, and bond related activity.
- Maintains Fixed Asset sub-ledger and account "roll-forward" analysis. Records journal entries reflecting monthly activity including depreciation, purchases, disposals, and construction in progress. Prepares and records quarterly capitalized interest calculation.
- Reconciles and records prepaid expenses, deposits, other asset activity. Maintains supporting schedules.
- Prepares monthly allocated expense reconciliations and entries.
- Reconciles and posts monthly journal entries for intercompany transactions.
- Audits employee purchase card expense reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Reconcile and prepare journal entries for investment activity.
- Assists in prepares annual cost reports.
- Assists in the preparation of organization's annual budget
- Assists in year-end audits.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with outside agencies and all involved Melmark departments.
- Cross trains expense and payables cycles.
- Completes special assignments as requested by the Director of Finance or Accounting Manager.
