Your role as aN ACCOUNTANTAs a Full-Time Accountant at Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Director of Finance on a daily basis. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, with a focus on billing third parties and managing private pay billing processes. You will also assist with General Ledger account reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of financial statements.
Additionally, you will maintain records of grants and fundraising expenses, log revenue and payments, and oversee third-party contracts. Preparing for yearly audits and submitting various reports as requested by the Director of Finance will also fall under your purview. You will perform administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing fiscal documents, and work on other projects as necessary while adhering to safety policies and protocols.

Are you the ACCOUNTANT we're looking for?To excel as a Full-Time Accountant at Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley, candidates must possess a degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, coupled with at least two years of relevant experience. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, is essential for effective data entry, reconciliation, and reporting. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are critical, allowing you to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. The ideal candidate will work both independently and collaboratively as a proactive team player. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are necessary for interpreting financial documents and interacting with colleagues at various levels.
Additionally, a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and an ability to think creatively to identify and solve problems will enhance your success in this role. Finally, reliable transportation to the Allentown, PA location is required for this onsite position.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- 1. Degree in Accounting
- Business
- or related field – Bachelors or Associate; and two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2. Proficient in Quick Books and personal computer skills including Excel spreadsheets
