Salary:

Felix Construction Company is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to work in our Phoenix office. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the companys overall financial operations. This position ensures that accounting transactions are properly recorded, posted, processed, and reported for accurate presentation of the balance sheet and income statement, helps coordinate activities that support the preparation of monthly financial reports and ensures compliance with internal financial and accounting controls.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Assist with month-end close including accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for period-end close.
  • Prepare the WIP schedule in compliance with GAAP or more specifically, ASC 606.
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports and ensure appropriate accounting procedures and controls.
  • Understand and apply relevant accounting guidance and principles.
  • Track and monitor Accounts Receivable.
  • Recommend process improvements within the department and lead efforts to continuously improve accounting processes.
  • Correspond with various departments to compile financial data to ensure accurate and timely period end reporting.
  • Assist in coordinating the preparation and compilation of year-end reporting, financial statements, and reconciliations for CPA firm.
  • Support annual budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Ad Hoc Projects contribute to special projects and tasks as assigned.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA a plus.
  • 3 years of accounting experience required; preferably in the construction industry.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to follow up and resolve problems.
  • Must be self-directed and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to easily assimilate information and learn new applications and processes.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate well with others.
  • Construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Vista Viewpoint experience a plus.
  • Strong integrity and work ethic are critical.
  • Ability to work on-site with regular, reliable attendance.
