Accountant Job at Accountable Physician Advisors in Westerville

A Columbus group of affiliated companies providing management advice, consulting, accounting/financial services, and revenue cycle management services to Physicians, Outpatient Facilities, and other entities serving patient needs is seeking a passionate Staff Accountant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of accounting principles and be able to maintain accurate financial records. The Staff Accountant will assist in preparing reports and working closely with various team members to support operations. This role supports the accounting team by performing essential tasks, including accounts payable, cash receipts posting, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and basic financial statement preparation. Must have strong bookkeeping skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accounts payable functions to include processing incoming vendor invoices and payments, processing allocations and settlement of intercompany transactions, posting and reconciling all cash transactions in Bill.com and QuickBooks Online, and investigating discrepancies or adjustments.
• Assist with periodic payroll processing in Justworks.
• Recording all journal entries in QuickBooks Online for each company.
• Performs accounts receivable functions to include drafting invoices, making mobile bank deposits, processing ACH transactions, and posting and reconciling all cash transactions in both Harvest and QuickBooks Online.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial statement preparation.
• Assist with annual budget process.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financial management
• At least 2 years of relevant experience (internship or entry-level role experience will be considered).
• Experience with Excel and cloud-based accounting and financial management software such as QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Harvest, or similar platforms is required.
• Professional communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management and colleagues.
• Accurate, attentive, detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
