$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to manage financial records accurately and efficiently. This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
2. Perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
3. Utilize financial software and accounting software for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
4. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis as needed.
5. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
6. Assist Controller as needed.
7. Assist with bank reconciliations.
8. Process and file monthly sales tax returns.
9. Prepare monthly journal entries.
10. Cross train with other positions in the accounting department.

Qualifications

1. Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
2. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
3. Proficiency in financial software and accounting software is essential.
4. Experience with account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and accounts payable processes.
5. Ability to interpret financial reports accurately and provide actionable insights.
6. Familiarity with GAAP standards is required.
7. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
8. Strong communication skills-verbal and written.
9. Salary will be based on experience.
