The Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing accrual entries and analyzing plant expenditures, preparing supplies and packaging adjustments and reporting, inventory analysis, reconciliations, yield reporting, monthly close preparation and required reporting along with forecasting and other ad hoc tasks. Focus is on accuracy, timeliness, and ownership of tasks.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plant expenditure analytics and accruals – Prepare and analyze monthly spend accrual entries in various account subgroups across multiple plants. Support operations and finance to understand and accurately assess costs.
- Monthly Variance Reporting – Prepare monthly analysis reports comparing actuals vs forecast for production, manufacturing expenses. Key drivers of variances communicated clearly and concisely to assist operations and finance in understanding of impacts.
- Account Reconciliations – Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.
- Forecasting/Budgeting – Work cross-functionally across plants to prepare monthly forecasts and periodic budgets (fixed and variable costs).
- CWM (Corn Wet Milling) Yield/Corn Accounting Preparation – Prepare yield and corn accounting each month, analyzing data for reasonability.
- Supplies/Packaging Adjustment/Analysis and Reporting – In charge of preparing, analyzing and adjusting supplies and packaging inventory/consumption to help operations and finance groups to understand and accurately assess usages.
- Inventory management – Assist in physical inventory counts/reconciliations as required.
- Audit/SOX Controls – Assist and help guide Audit data requests as needed.
- Process Improvement – Conduct process reviews periodically to standardize and enhance procedures across the COE (Center of Excellence). Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process.
- Develop Relationships – Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all units and functional managers across local and remote locations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of plant financial performance.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- +1 years relevant experience
- Experience using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) costing systems. SAP experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to understand business processes/cost concepts
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions and drive improvements
- Ownership mindset on core responsibilities
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to various levels within the organization
- Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Exhibits prioritization and organizational skills
- Works collaboratively with peers and others
- Embraces change and is open to new ideas and approaches
- Flexibility in job responsibilities as part of overall team
- Travel required as necessary

Pay Range: $67,520.00-$90,026.67 Annual
This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation: As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
