About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized accountant to support our finance operations. This role plays a key part in our monthly accounting close process, systems administration in Unanet, and other accounting/finance functions. We are open to part time or full time candidates for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process employee timesheets, expense reports, and payroll
• Prepare and process invoices for vendors, government agencies, and subcontractors
• Responsible for managing the month end closing process including but not limited to account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and review and correct financial discrepancies/system journal entries as needed
• People and expense assignment set ups in our accounting system (Unanet)
• Researching, tracking, and resolving accounting and/or documentation discrepancies
• Participating in monthly and fiscal-quarter closings, preparing general ledger journal entries, and analyzing revenue recognition and expense variances
• Compiling reports/summaries of financial activity
• Update and maintain financial and account records
• Support for annual tax and compliance filings
• Perform financial analysis, project accounting, and budgeting support
• Monitor organizational compliance with regulations, requirements, and laws especially as it pertains to GAAP and DCAA principles.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or a related role.
• Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Unanet is required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and general financial reporting tools.
• Experience in a government contracting or project-based environment, specifically high growth defense-tech firms.
• Familiarity with DCAA, WAWF, FAR, and DFARS
