This position involves applying accounting principles to perform month-end close tasks, prepare and review financial statements, conduct financial data analysis, and perform account reconciliations. The role requires independent work with moderate supervision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheets, reconciliations, income statements, and profit and loss statements, ensuring accurate accounting entries.
• Perform month-end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and trends, investigating unusual activities and implementing corrective actions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and supporting inventory counts and audits.
• Handle various accounting duties such as coding invoices, reconciling bank and cash accounts, managing accounts receivable and payable, and verifying payments.
• Support cost accounting by updating costs for milk, packaging, and ingredients.
• Post accruals and participate in ad-hoc projects and management reporting.
• Compile and analyze financial data to prepare reports for management decision-making.
• Lead small projects or components of larger accounting initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.
