nVenia is adding an Accountant to its dynamic, dedicated Finance team. The Accountant position offers a dynamic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the financial success of the organization. This role provides a valuable platform to develop a strong foundation in accounting principles and gain practical experience in a fast-paced environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

General ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Accurately prepare & record recurring journal entries.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and corrections.
  • Prepare reconciliations & provide analysis on Balance Sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Understand and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Fixed Assets
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset records in the accounting system
  • Record the acquisition of new fixed assets (property, plant, equipment).
  • Calculate and record depreciation and amortization expense for fixed assets.
  • Record the disposal of fixed assets (sales, retirements, write-offs).
  • Prepare journal entries to reflect the gain or loss on disposal.
Accounts Payable
  • Assist with all aspects of the Accounts Payable process. Provide back up when needed.
  • Process vendor invoices, including verifying accuracy and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure all vendor information is up-to-date.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks and electronic transfers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Other Responsibilities
  • Prepare and/or review various month end metrics reports as requested.
  • Assist with audit and tax work as needed.
  • Assist with ad-hoc activities as needed.
  • Communicate issues and concerns to the Senior Controller and/or V.P. of Finance.
  • Assist with other accounting functions as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Strong internship program and/or minimum 1 year experience working in Accounting
