Senior Accountant

The Daily Wire is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join the Finance Team! The Senior Accountant works closely alongside the Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting activities, including general accounting, analyzing financial information, revenue recognition, inventory, report preparation, and performing month-end close procedures, among other duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accounting records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting procedural standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of revenue, assets, and production department expenses.
  • Manage asset tracking throughout the month, including recording asset additions and disposals in the fixed asset register.
  • Assist with monthly revenue booking, including subscription, advertising, and social video revenue.
  • Support month-end close procedures, including booking accruals and maintaining prepaid schedules.
  • Reconcile company bank accounts every month.
  • Assist in the monthly reconciliation of credit card transactions for production department expenses.
  • Serve as the system administrator for daily project log reporting and prepare monthly production labor reports.
  • Collaborate with managers across departments to provide requested financial information, such as production and event costs.
  • Analyze, post, and amortize subscription-related bank fees.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Ensure financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  • Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Experience & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of progressive and public accounting, finance experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Accounting experience with multi-entity organizations preferred
  • Familiarity with GL entries and basic accounting procedures
  • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting system preferred
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Strong data entry and processing skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organized and able to transition easily between various tasks
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain confidential information
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • G-suite proficiency
