We are looking for an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our Small Business Department in Brunswick. The ideal candidate will utilize their strong understanding of accounting principles to provide high-quality accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll services to multiple clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting services to small and mid-sized businesses and professional service firms.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Prepare and reconcile sales and use taxes for state and local levels.
- Process payroll for multiple clients.
- Perform month-end closing procedures and reconcile all banking and financial accounts.
- Calculate, prepare, and issue invoices and financial statements.
- Manage year-end 1099 processing.
- Research and resolve client issues in QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Develop positive client relationships through excellent customer service.
- Complete financial analysis and support special projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
- At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred.
- Associate's Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting principles, practices, and procedures, especially on automated systems.
- Advanced skills in QuickBooks and MS Excel.
