Senior Accountant
The client is a brilliant, global energy company with an annual revenue of over $2 billion. The business continues to grow and is looking to hire a few additional heads to the team to manage the increased workload. The role will report directly into the Accounting Manager and the role will be heavily involved with the monthly close, lease accounting, financial planning and entity consolidation. The company really push internal growth and are looking for a new candidate to join this exciting new team!
Job Description
The successful Senior Accountant will:
- Manage lease accounting, including schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and ASC 842 compliance.
- Review lease contracts and prepare related financial disclosures.
- Track, record, and reconcile accrued expenses, ensuring proper cut-off and accuracy.
- Support payroll and bonus accounting, including entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for monthly close.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and well-documented close processes.
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance across assigned areas.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other teams on reporting, variance analysis, and insights.
- Support automation, system improvements, and process efficiency.
- Participate in special projects, including system upgrades and consolidations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

The Successful Applicant
The successful Senior Accountant will:
- Have 3+ year's experience with similar roles
- Have a strong working knowledge of ASC 842 and US GAAP
- Prior working knowledge of the system Oracle Fusion (desirable, not essential)
- CPA qualification (desirable, not essential) - completed or actively studying
- Eager to progress through a new company
- High attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
