The Accountant at Spatial Corp would be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and preparing financial reports.
General ledger
Process general ledger journal entries
Review and approve account reconciliations
Ensure appropriateness of accounting records and control journal entries
Ensure proper tax compliance of legal entities, in relation with the tax department as applicable
Responsible for defining and maintaining the chart of accounts in respect of the Group policy
Monitor IFRS and statutory accounting principles
Ensure internal controls are efficient and operate in respect of Group Compliance policies
Interface with internal and external auditors to support the financial statements
Ability to be able to prepare and analyze financial statements
Financial closings & reporting
Provide accounting data for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings
Define and respect the closing planning
Prepare and review the balance sheet, profit and loss, consolidated and other accounting statements
Upload or otherwise enter financial data, including data needed for financial statement footnotes, into the company consolidation system (Magnitude)
Provide analysis and supporting financial data to members of the accounting team, other departments, and external parties as needed
Review and explain the non-operating P&L results and changes in balance sheet accounts
Reconcile intercompany balances (Balance Sheet & P&L) with partner companies
Obtain the IFRS certification for relevant BUs
Prepare required statutory financial statements, as applicable
Support the audit processes within the department, including preparation and review for statutory, internal, and other audit / review purposes
Support Financial Statements (IFRS and statutory, as applicable)
Support the Tax team on data required for filing Tax returns, as applicable
4+ years related work experience
Education: BA in Accounting or Finance
Must have Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Outlook
Experience in managing ERP systems, especially NetSuite or similar complexities
Quick learner and self-starter who has the ability to work independently or within a team environment
High integrity, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills
Ability to critique payment requests and ensure the proper approval is secured
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Strong attention to detail and proven methods of consistency
Able to seek out answers when given the opportunity and able to take the initiative to identify and resolve issues
Must be open to additional responsibilities and teamwork ethics
