Job Description

What's Encore About?
Encore Luxury Coaches (also known as “Encore”) is the top provider of luxury entertainment coaches in North America. For over 20 years, our team has focused on "Delivering a Premium" in everything we do. We design and build the most advanced luxury coaches, setting new standards in the industry for innovation and comfort. Our approach extends beyond the coach; we carefully select each driver to match our clients’ personalities and specific needs, ensuring a travel experience that is as seamless as it is luxurious. This commitment to excellence is not just for our clients but also reflects how we treat our team, providing significant career opportunities and competitive benefits. As we continue to grow and lead the industry, we remain dedicated to enhancing every aspect of our service, from our exceptional coaches to the personalized care we provide.

Your Role
As a Senior Staff Accountant at Encore, you will lead month end for assigned workstreams or entities, own complex areas, and set the quality bar for reconciliations, schedules, and documentation. This role is built for someone with advanced technical strength, a track record of clean first pass results, and the ability to mentor others while partnering with leaders across the business. You will work directly with our Controllers and operations partners to accelerate the close, strengthen controls, and provide insights that improve margin and cash. Industry experience with coaches is not required.

This is a growth minded role for someone ready to deepen expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation and WIP or CIP, intercompany and eliminations, fixed assets, lease accounting, and the procure to pay process using 3 way matching within a multi entity, dimensioned environment that includes location, department, and coach level job costing. We will train you on our internal “coach” dimension and job costing.

Responsibilities

  • Close leadership: Own end to end close for assigned entities or workstreams, manage the calendar, coordinate dependencies, and hit a 5 day close target

  • Cost accounting and margin: Maintain or validate standard costs and overhead rates, analyze PPV and production or service variances, track WIP, and partner with operations to improve gross margin

  • Procure to pay and 3 way match: Oversee PO, receipt, and invoice matching in NetSuite, resolve escalations, drive root cause fixes with purchasing and receiving, maintain clean GR IR, and reduce price and quantity variance drivers

  • Dimensional reporting and job costing: Ensure accurate coding by entity, location, department, and coach. Reconcile job costing to the general ledger and deliver coach and program level margin views

  • Fixed assets and CIP: Own the fixed asset subledger, capitalization policy, useful lives, depreciation runs, and project to asset transfers, including construction in progress

  • Intercompany and consolidations: Prepare and reconcile intercompany balances, manage settlements and eliminations, and provide clear tie outs for consolidation

  • Compliance and audit: Maintain GAAP alignment, strengthen internal controls, prepare PBC requests, and remediate issues proactively

  • Reporting and insights: Deliver management schedules and narrative variance explanations that inform decisions

  • Process and systems: Accelerate close, automate routine entries, improve NetSuite usage, and maintain SOPs so work is repeatable and auditable

  • Mentorship and review: Review work from Staff I and II, provide feedback, and raise documentation and quality standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience that includes leading portions of the close

  • Hands on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or similar environment

  • Hands on experience with the PO process and 3 way matching in an ERP

  • Strong GAAP knowledge with proven expertise in inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and CIP

  • Demonstrated success shortening close timelines and improving reconciliation quality

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable ERP

  • Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting and multi entity consolidations
  • Background in manufacturing, leasing, or logistics with standard cost and margin analysis

  • Exposure to BI tools for variance and KPI reporting

  • Experience training or mentoring junior accountants
