JOB SUMMARY:
This role will primarily focus on accounting for individual properties that Cornerstone Residential manages for third party owners. This position will report to the Executive Accountant and its responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day-to-day accurate and timely bank reconciliations, monthly financial reporting, mortgage activity reconciliation, and occasional support with accounts payable. Other necessary skills include being a highly detail-oriented individual with good written and oral presentation skills. Full-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt
SHIFT:
Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm
COMPENSATION:
$24-$28/hour DOE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Produces quality, accurate and timely monthly financial statements by preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. Entries include:
- Reconcile and amortize prepaids
- Expense accruals
- Debt reconciliations and interest accruals
- Record cash receipts
- Enter and reconcile mortgage statements ensuring all principal, interest, escrow & fee activity is accurately recorded
3. Expected to use professional judgement when dealing with confidential information (including payroll, legal, etc.)
- Assist with timely preparation of portfolio level reporting packages
- Collaborate with property managers, regional manager, VP's and asset managers to clarify variances and support financial decision-making.
- Record monthly journal entries to record interest income, other deposits, and intercompany cash transactions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple property accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Contact controller as needed to correct discrepancies in cash accounts and ensure compliance when opening/closing cash accounts
- Assist with minor accounts payable processing as needed, including coding, entering, and paying invoices.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts related to escrow, security deposits, and reserve accounts.
