Montana Housing assists with buying a home, down payment assistance, mortgage servicing, Reverse Annuity Mortgages, rental housing assistance, and multifamily rental development.
We are seeking an individual with strong accounting and soft skills required to interact with Montana Board of Housing (MBOH) stakeholders. Experience in processing mortgages is preferred, but we are willing to train an individual with the skills required.

What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
· An Associates degree in Accounting or related field.
· Other combinations of education and experience will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The ability to:
· Reconcile technical accounting activities.
· Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies.
· Administer MBOH mortgage program fiscal activities.
· Coordinates and reconciles monthly mortgage billing activities.
· Provide technical assistance to servicers on mortgage program operations and procedures. Must tailor the training to the audience level of understanding.
· Answer servicer questions regarding mortgage accounting procedures and payoffs.
· Ensure servicers are complying with MBOH policies.
· Provide information about and encourages participation of lenders and servicers in MBOH loan programs.
· Develop and utilize internal accounting tools (e.g. databases and spreadsheets) to detail financial activity.
· Coordinate the deposit of checks received by MBOH and prepare the deposit, coding with appropriate SABHRS or trustee account.
· Coordinates the funds movement of checks received by MBOH for loans in foreclosure.
· Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
· Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· State and federal rules and regulations related to mortgage accounting activity.
· Spreadsheet maintenance and design.
· Journal entries
· Use general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, etc.) and specialized system applications (Perceptive and Emphasys), and automated accounting systems.
