Our client, a dynamic private organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a lean but collaborative internal finance team. This newly created position will play a key role in supporting daily accounting functions, with an emphasis on month-end close and general ledger work. The role is ideal for someone who wants to strengthen their accounting experience while growing into expanded responsibilities over time in a mission-driven, hospitality-focused environment.

Compensation
- Base pay range – $60,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr
- Salary – $65,000 - $70,000
Staff Accountant Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close procedures, reconciliations, and workpapers.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals (understanding debits and credits).
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Support general ledger maintenance and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and processes.
- Contribute to department growth by taking on new responsibilities over time.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned.
Staff Accountant Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accrual accounting concepts, debits/credits, and general ledger work.
- Strong Excel skills (comfortable with formulas, spreadsheets, and reporting).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in hospitality, nonprofit, or membership-based environments a plus.
