Job Description
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records. This position involves preparing month-end close journal entries, completing balance sheet and profit and loss account reconciliations, and performing close administration duties. The role also includes state and local tax filings, cash management functions, and lease administration.
Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end close journal entries.
- Complete balance sheet and profit and loss account reconciliations and analysis during month-end close.
- Perform close administration by maintaining journal entry, account reconciliation, and secondary review checklists.
- Conduct account review and analysis throughout the month and post transactions.
- Ensure general ledger integrity through reports and validations.
- Prepare state and local tax filings, licenses, and registrations for business operations.
- Perform cash management functions including daily bank deposits and weekly payment processing.
- Record property transactions including rent, utilities, insurance, and other related expenses.
- Perform lease administration and review in accordance with ASC 842.
- Manage property and equipment, goodwill, and intangibles.
- Oversee expense report and purchasing card processes.
- Cross-train with other accountants to ensure smooth workflow of tasks.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification is a plus.
This position is based onsite in a corporate headquarters environment, providing a professional setting for collaboration and productivity.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
The candidate will be available to company benefits once they have reached the final interview.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Memphis,TN.
