Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting our client, Commonwealth Catholic Charities, in the search for a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting organizational decision-making. CCC offers quality and compassionate human services to all people, especially the most vulnerable, regardless of faith. We are passionate about the work we do in our communities, providing 31 critical services at 11 locations throughout Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and cash transactions.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and schedules.
- Track and report on budgets versus actuals, including variance analysis.
- Maintain supporting schedules such as fixed assets, leases, allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support audits, grant/award billings, and other external reporting requirements.
- Review staff entries for accuracy and serve as a backup for Controller approvals.
- Perform bank reconciliations, manage system data (MIP), and assist with treasury activities.
- Partner with management and program staff to provide financial insights and reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements and support Finance team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software; experience with MIP is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated professional conduct and sensitivity to diverse populations.
