Property Accountant ($70,000 - $85,000, contingent upon experience)

LHH - Hybrid in Dallas (M-Th onsite; Friday work from home)

LHH is seeking a Property Accountant for a leading company in the oil and gas industry, located in Dallas, TX. The role involves managing accounting activities for designated oil and gas properties, including journal entry preparation, financial analysis, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least one year of relevant accounting experience, and preference will be given to CPA candidates. Responsibilities:

• Handle journal entries, financial analyses, and account reconciliations related to production, revenue, royalties, and taxes for assigned oil and gas properties.
• Collaborate closely with Operations and Field teams to review and communicate financial data effectively.
• Prepare and submit required reports to governmental agencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in property acquisition projects valued up to $1 billion and support audit-related initiatives.
• Implement and apply technical accounting concepts with guidance and supervision to develop expertise.
• Manage and evaluate performance analysis of properties, overseeing assets totaling between $100 million and $250 million.

Client Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of one year experience in accounting, preferably within oil and gas or related industries.
• CPA candidate strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with general accounting principles, financial analysis, and journal entries.
• Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy of financial information.
