Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Grant Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing the financial aspects of government, foundation, and corporate grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and supporting program teams with accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit experience and a strong understanding of fund accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of grant-related financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports for funders and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
• Assist with grant proposal budgets and financial narratives.
• Collaborate with program and development teams to align financial tracking with program goals.
• Support annual audit and grant-specific audits as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) for federal grants.
• Reconcile grant revenue and expenses and manage restricted funds.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting and grant compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with government grants (e.g., federal, state, city).
• Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and nonprofit audit processes.
• CPA or working toward CPA certification is a plus.
