MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Payroll Accountant to join our Accounting team! Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or three to five years of relevant work experience in processing payroll for organizations exceeding 1,000 employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Payroll Preparation and processing within the payroll accounting transaction cycle.
  • Responsible for garnishments, ACA tracking, and check writing.
  • Ensures that all agency policies and procedures are followed.
  • Document maintenance and monthly account reconciliation.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll report verifying payroll accuracy, including payroll deductions.
  • Assist with the completion of month-end closing.
  • Assist with review of federal and state tax returns and W2s for accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
