Full-Time
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for assisting in streamlining the accounting close process including the review of all team processes to bring team efficiencies. Responsible to oversee the accounting close process and recommend streamlining efforts. Review all account reconciliations monthly and perform technical accounting research as required. The role also assists on the year-end financial audit and the various compliance reports, filings, and audits required throughout the year.
- Assist in streamlining the accounting close process including the monthly accounting close calendar in an effort to reduce the close
- Cross-train with other Sr. Accountant to serve as back-up for the various tasks of the accounting close
- Review all account reconciliations monthly per account recon tracker.
- Review all team process documentation and recommend improvements; assist in updating team process documentation as necessary; create new process documentation as required.
- Perform technical accounting research as required.
- Assist on special projects as assigned.
- Assist on annual year-end financial audit including PBC preparation and follow-up with auditors
- Assist on the various compliance reports, filings and audits required during the financial year (Medicare Cost Reports by entity, Medicaid Cost reports by entity, 403(b) audit, 990 Tax Reporting by entity, Single audit, etc.)

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
- Experience as part of a General Ledger Accounting Team
- Sage Intacct experience a plus
- Non-profit accounting experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Understanding and ability to use complex arithmetic and grammar with accuracy.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English and understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions.
- Proficient ability to operate computer using various software programs for word document and spreadsheet processing including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Proficient working knowledge of accounting rules and standards including the ability to create and post journal entries, read, create, and understand financial statements, reconcile ledger accounts, and apply accounting rules to specific business transactions to determine the appropriate recording of the transaction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions; maintaining flexibility and dealings with change; ability to take initiative.
- Requires proficient attention to detail and maintaining a routine; proficient organizational skills required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers, employees, residents, clients and other internal and external constituents.
- Requires excellent, effective professional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use personal computers and various word processing software in addition to other office machinery used which includes telephone, typewriter, copy machine, fax machine, and adding machine. Aptitude for using these machines required.
