Clayton Services is searching for a Senior Accountant to join a fast-paced, growth-oriented company in Willis, Texas. The Senior Accountant will have the opportunity to contribute both strategically and operationally, supporting accounting functions and collaborating across departments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and eager to enhance financial operations and reporting.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $85,000-$110,000/year

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Collaborate across departments-finance, operations, and IT-to maintain accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Support external financial audits by organizing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Analyze financial results and trends to provide leadership with meaningful insights and decision support.
- Oversee treasury functions such as daily cash management, forecasting, and working capital optimization.
- Participate in or lead the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and ERP tools.
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions through due diligence and integration support.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), utilizing tools like Power BI or other analytics platforms.
- Conduct reconciliations of general ledger accounts and perform month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Develop and maintain internal financial policies, controls, and procedures.
- Train and onboard accounting personnel, especially during system transitions or post-acquisition integrations.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
- Ability to interpret legal and accounting terminology, including GAAP and contract terms.
- Proficient in calculations involving fractions, decimals, and formulas.
- Solid understanding of accounting functions and financial formulas.
- Ability to define problems, gather data, and draw logical conclusions.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and email platforms.
- Comfort with ERP/accounting systems and digital workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- A minimum of four years of professional accounting or finance experience, preferably in a fast-paced or private equity-backed environment.
- Proficient in GAAP, financial statement preparation, and audit coordination.
- Skilled in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
- Experience with construction accounting or job costing is preferred.
- Familiarity with process improvement or system/ERP implementations is preferred.
- Knowledge of KPI reporting and data visualization tools like Power BI is preferred.
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is preferred.
