Overview

The Encompass Group is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Galveston, TX. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close processes, and ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist with audits by providing required documentation and explanations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy of financial data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of general ledger accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software preferred
• Ability to work in the Galveston office full-time (this is an on-site role)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
