Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and other reports, as well as presenting financial statement results to management. The Senior Accountant will also perform general ledger account reconciliations, review and research transactions in the general ledger, and post journal entries.
Working independently, the Senior Accountant must have the ability to perform multiple tasks while producing a high volume of work with accuracy. A sense of urgency, excellent attention to detail, and strong Microsoft Excel skills are required. The Senior Accountant will demonstrate initiative, organizational skills, dependability, diligence, teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong understanding of GAAP
- Quickly acquire understanding of Caterpillar reporting requirements
- Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis
- Prepare monthly and annual general ledger reconciliations and analyses
- Post journal entries
- Assist in designing and preparing budgets for management review
- Support special projects and other tasks as assigned
- Become proficient in software systems including Microsoft Dynamics AX, Targit, and SharePoint
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ensure high accuracy in all tasks
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
Experience
At least four years of experience in corporate or public accounting. CPA certification preferred but required.
