Qualifications:

• Accounting Degree
• Residential Property accounting experience
• 2+ years' Audit Experience
• HUD processes knowledge/experience (worked with or having knowledge of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs, rules, and compliance requirements)

Job Description:

• Generate monthly GAAP-compliant financial reports for a portfolio of managed properties.
• Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations, including detailed schedules and roll-forwards for key balance sheet items (e.g., fixed assets, accounts receivable, prepaids, accrued liabilities).
• Perform monthly general ledger (GL) closings for assigned properties, coordinating with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure correct classification of revenue and expenses.
• Execute quarter-end accrual entries and general ledger reconciliations for managed assets.
• Contribute to year-end closing activities and collaborate with external accountants during financial audits and tax return preparation by providing accurate year-end work papers and documentation.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

• Partner with the Controller to oversee accounting procedures for managed properties, ensuring adherence to HUD guidelines, investor requirements, and relevant state and federal regulations.
• Support preparation of required tax filings and ensure compliance across all reporting obligations.

Forecasting, Budgeting & Analysis

• Collaborate with Property Managers to support financial planning and forecasting, including variance analysis and budget preparation.
• Provide ongoing financial insights to aid in property performance reviews and long-term planning.
• Complete or review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of recorded transactions and resolution of discrepancies.
