Senior Accountant – Strategic Finance Role

Chicago Loop | Hybrid (3 days in office)

Our client, a well-established player in the professional services space, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in downtown Chicago. This isn’t your typical accounting role—while the month-end close is handled by a separate team, this position is geared toward strategic budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across departments
• Analyze financial performance and identify trends or areas for improvement
• Deliver financial reports and presentations to leadership
• Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with business goals
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
• Mentor junior team members

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA is a plus)
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting (public accounting a plus)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial compliance
• Skilled in Excel and financial planning tools
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
