We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing data-driven insights to improve efficiency and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on manufacturing costs, variances, and margins.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new and existing products, including standard cost updates.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Analyze inventory transactions, reconcile work-in-progress (WIP), and verify bill of materials (BOM) accuracy.
  • Conduct variance analysis (labor, material, and overhead) and provide explanations to management.
  • Partner with operations and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Support annual budget development and rolling forecasts with cost and margin analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare ad-hoc cost and financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist with ERP and cost accounting system enhancements and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA a plus).
  • 1+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
