Location: New York, NY 10007

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join the team. The Ideal candidate will be responsible for all financial operations and play an integral role in our business by directing all accounting activities and developing the MS SHIFT accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze finical statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all transactions.
  • Ensure clients are accurately invoiced in a timely manner for the work we did for them and for expenses that our team members incurred.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including reconciling accounts, taxes and preparing journal entries.
  • Cultivate accounting team by managing performance, providing training, and setting goals.
  • Participate in audits and reconciliations of financial records as needed.
  • Ensure all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist accounting team with contacting clients to follow up on past-due invoices.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Prior accounting experience at the Staff Accountant level.
  • 5+ year of experience in accounting.
  • Month end closing along with G/L accounting, reconciliation, fixed assets and accruals.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • 5+ year of experience with QuickBooks Online and MS Office.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize/meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure, the ability to embrace with enthusiasm changing priorities, procedures and responsibilities.
  • Previous experience with Financial Reporting, Month-end Close, and Variance Analysis

Compensation

Base salary: $70,000-$90,000/year
