The Tax Accountant will primarily be involved in the preparation of various forms of tax compliance as related to Bunzl Distribution. This position reports to the Manager, Sales Tax. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate seeking to develop overall corporate tax experience.

This position will be in office 5 days a week for up to 6 months. At that, the role will likely be hybrid 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage the process of customer sales tax credits/exemptions for a Bunzl division
• Recognize, anticipate and resolve tax issues; make recommendations to tax officials and customers
• Maintain all customer exemption certifications
• Research tax issues through analysis of tax law, regulations and court decisions
• Provide support with annual company audits
• Prepare sales/use tax returns
• Analyze sales tax assessments
• Participate in implementation of automated sales tax system and contribute to ongoing maintenance
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Accounting/Finance experience required with a minimum of 4 years
• Tax experience required
• A certification as a licensed CPA is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications a must
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Commitment to compliance deadlines
• Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are essential
• Must have the ability to work independently; and be detailed oriented
• Experience with an automated sales tax software system (i.e. Taxware or Vertex) is preferred
